Ahmoye Holiday Greeting 2020

2020 not so quickly passed,

This year was a great big pain in the...

What started out as hopeful dreams,

Ended up in COVID screams.

Hawaii and Paris trips put on hold,

At least for a year, that's what we're told.

School was a no-go; extracurriculars too,

So we hunkered on down with our own little crew.

The dining room became our very own class,

Also the room with much whining and sass.

Dano kept working from his home office,

Managed zoom calls, profits, and losses.

As parents, we almost lost our minds,

Surviving solely on coffee and wine.

The kids were sad, missed their friends a lot,

But adapted quicker than anyone thought.

They did online classes and went out to play,

Baked, read books, and seized each day.

But through it all we had each other,

Mother, father, sister, brother.

2020 was a major suck,

No one gave a single...

Toilet roll to their friend,

Hoarding it all 'til the bitter end.

So here we are at the start of a year,

A reminder for you to spread good cheer.

Wear a mask and do your part,

Follow the rules and lead from the heart.

Please stay home if you feel at all sick,

And don't be a horrible, terrible...

Cheers to 2021! The bar is set real low.
